Texas Brahmas Youth Hockey Association

Coach Scott Branum has hockey in his blood as his home away from home is a rink. His father, George Branum, was the front office manager for the Fort Worth Wings, and Texans from the late 60’s until 1982, and from 1991-1994 he was the GM of the Fort Worth Fire. Branum is the founder of the Fort Worth Hawks men’s team since 1992 to present and for the last 17 years has traveled to many national and local tournaments bringing home Championships as well as many top 5 finishes.

Recently, Branum’s passion for hockey placed him behind the bench coaching his son. For two seasons, he was the assistant coach to former NHL player Al Secord and has learned a great deal for his newest position. The last two years, Branum was the Head Coach of the JR Brahma Mite Major teams where they captured the NTXHL Mite Major Championship last season.

• Mite – FWAHA, Began Playing Hockey at 4 years-old (1973 – 1976)
• Squirt, Peewee, Bantam –FWAHA House and A Traveling Teams (1976 – 1982) 
• High School – DJHA, Dallas Express, (1984 – 1987)
  • Always a contender for the “single-tier” State Championship (last played in Houston TX 1987.
• PRO - 1991-1993 RHI, and CHL, Florida Hammerheads until team folded, returned to Texas for 3 games as a backup goaltender with the Fort Worth Fire.
