Players should have skates sharpened, sticks taped, equipment washed, screws for helmet cage tightened and name tags on their hockey bags prior to leaving.
o Players should bring:
1. Normal hockey equipment INCLUDING NECK GUARDS (these are mandatory in Canada), primary and back-up stick, stick and sock tape*
2. Jr. Brahmas-issued dry land t-shirt and shorts.
3. Appropriate clothing for outdoor recreation (bathing suits, hats, etc.) and team events (clean shorts, jeans, hoodie, etc.) See the weather channel for Bayfield and Toronto for more info on weather.
4. Sleeping bag and pillow.
5. Toiletries, soap/shampoo & towels for showering in Bayfield/Bluewater Shores Lakefront Resort.
6. Sunscreen and insect repellent.
7. Hockey pin bag
8. Entertainment – books, MP3 players, smartphones, portable DVD players, mini sticks, camera, etc. The bus has standard electrical outlets for electrical devices/charges (no cigarette lighter adapters needed).
9. Cell phone chargers.
*Frank will provide Jr. Brahmas practice jerseys and socks.
Parents should ensure their child(ren) have their valid passports and their notarized Affidavit - Authorization for Minor to Travel letter authorizing their child to travel to Canada (either with no accompanying parent or just one accompanying parent)
Parents should contact their credit card companies (Fraud Department) to notify them that they will be travelling to Ontario, Canada for the appropriate dates to ensure their card does not have a usage hold put on it. They should also inquire as to what international transaction fees may apply.
Parents should contact their wireless phone carrier to determine how much roaming charges are for voice minutes (and data transfer, if applicable).
