2011-12 Texas Junior A Brahmas
Team bowling night at Brunswick Zone in Wautaga.
Brahmas welcome five new players
Jeremy Kaunisto
It was a busy holiday break for the Junior A Brahmas, saying goodbye to three players and adding five to an already talented roster. First to leave the Brahmas was all-time leading scorer Albert Bolush, who left to play professionally in Finland. The Brahmas then traded forward Brian Barnes to the Park City Moose. Goaltender Garret Cheeseman returned home to Juneau, Alaska to begin college.
The Brahmas were able to add to their roster, filling the holes of the departing players with forwards Landyn Howze, Seth Ensor and Josh Gray, along with goaltender Zane Sampson. The Brahmas also welcomed the return of defenseman Jeremy Kaunisto who, along with Howze and Gray had been playing with the Osoyoos Coyotes in the KIJHL.
Howze is a Keller-native who Dallas Stars Selects Midget Major A in 2010-11. Sampson is very familiar with the Brahmas as well, having been the winning goaltender in the Brahmas opening playoff overtime loss to the Boulder Bison in 2010-11.
The Brahmas return to home ice Saturday, January 21 at 2 p.m. against the Dallas Snipers. Tickets are $5 at the door! Come out to cheer on and welcome the newest Brahmas!
